Candy speedpaint
A speedpaint from the largely forgotten 1968 film Candy. Given that it stars the stunning Ewa Aulin I'm not entirely sure how I ended up sketching Walter Matthau, but rest assured I'll rectify this shocking ommision at some point in the future!
Terry Southern is one of my most favorite writers, and Candy is a damn fine book, but Candy, the movie, is terrible, and sure wouldn't serve potential readers well is they first viewed the movie. Ewa was a fine babe, but Southern actually quit all involvement with the movie once she'd been cast since he wrote the character as an innocent, all-American girl. This was the first of many mistakes that comprise Candy, the movie. Great cast, though. I watch it every few years, thinking that maybe I just wasn't ready for it, that it MUST be a great film with such a great cast. Oh, what might have been....
